Daily

Fluid Checks

  • Check engine oil and top up when required.
  • Check transmission fuid and top up when required.
  • Check hydraulic fluid levels and top up when required.
  • Check engine coolant levels and top up when required.
Belt Checks
  • Check the alternator belt for cracks and wears.
  • Check hydraulic belt tension and adjust if necessary.
Every 100 Scrapes
  • Lubricate all 25 lube points.
  • Change the ice shaving blade.
Monthly Basis or 120 Hours
  • Spray grease on the top link threads.
  • Check the tension of the conditioner motor drive chain making sure it has no more than a half inch play.
  • Spray grease on the motor drive chain of the conditioner.
  • Check the brake fluid level & top up if needed.
  • Check the tire pressure to ensure 65 PSI.
  • Change the oil and replace the oil filter every 150 hours to avoid costly engine repairs
Yearly Basis
  • Grease entire unit.
  • Change hydraulic fluid.
  • Change front differential oil.
  • Change rear differential oil.
  • Change transfer case oil.
  • Wash unit
  • Get ready for storage (see below).
Storage
  • Spray all metal surfaces of the conditioner with penetrating oil.
  • Grease all the lube points.
  • Ensure the horizontal and vertical augers and all moving parts of the conditioner are covered with a film of oil.
  • Rmove end caps of the flood pipes and flush with water (prevents erosion to the water system).
  • Drain and flush the water tanks.
  • Leave all the drains and valves open for storage.
  • Remove blades and clean.
  • Store blade in the wooden sheath.
  • Inspect the blade & sharpen if necessary.
  • Oil the blade holder on the conditioner.

Parking Brake

  • Check catch bracket and hill brake latch for wear or damage
  • Lubricate linkages – do not lubricate cables and catch bracket

Fuel System

  • Check for leaks and deterioration of fuel lines
  • Replace fuel filter

Throttle & Governor Linkage

  • Check for proper operation and correct speed
Off Season Storage
  • Add fuel stabilizer to the bulk storage tank prior to storage

  • Check battery electrolyte level and add water if needed. Fill 1/2” above the plates. Add water if plates are showing to just cover the plates and charge the car.
  • Top off batteries after car is fully charged. Do not overfill.
  • Use Battery Maintenance Kit P/N 25587G01
  • Clean batteries with a solution of water and baking soda (1/4 cup to 1-1/2 gallon) (minimum of once, maximum twice)
  • Check for abnormal play and loose hardware on steering, tie rods and linkages
  • Check for smooth operation of accelerator linkages
  • Check and lubricate direction selector
  • Check battery wires for worn insulation, loose hardware and corrosion
Quarterly
  • Suspension – Check for axle damage, loose hardware, leaking shocks and front spring alignment
Semi-Annually
  • Body -- Clean and wax all painted surfaces
  • Direction Selector -- Check for smooth operation, wear and lubricate all mechanical parts except cables
  • Front suspension -- Inspect all parts for wear and damage; replace  any worn or damaged parts; lubricate TXT steering
    ball joint; check toe-in alignment and realign if necessary
Annually
  • Clean and adjust brakes. Replace brake shoes as required
Off Season Storage
  • Clean, water and fully charge batteries prior to storage
  • Disconnect ESC from Batteries and Charger from Car
  • Test if necessary or recharge at 30 day intervals during off-season
